NYSEF Ski Jumpers Andrew Bliss and Peter Frenette went 5th and 6th in Chicago’s Annual K70 SuperTour Event. Johnny Lyon’s of St. Paul, Minnesota won with 238 points. Johnny jumped 73 and 73.5 meters.
Nina Lussi took the win in the Women’s class with jumps of 70 and 68 meters for 210.7 points

“Iron Bill” threw down in a Nordic Combined World Cup in Seefeld, Austria. Demong jumped to 13th place in the sprint event, 74 seconds back at the start of the 7.5K. Demong used the first two laps to ski up to the lead back of competitiors. He out-sprinted Eric Frenzel for the 6th place finish. Billy was only 9 seconds off the winner (Christoph Bieler) at the finish. Billy had the 2nd fastest XC time.

Entry fee: $3.00 and you can register Sunday around 11:30-12:30.
The races will be CLASSIC Technique.
Classes: Lollipop under 8 yrs, J5 – 8-9 yrs, J4 – 10-11 yrs, J3 – 12-13 yrs
All the races will run out of the XC Stadium.

Congratulations to Nick Mancuso (New Paltz, NY) and Caitlin Curran (Burke, VT) for taking top juniors honors this weekend. The Harry Eldridge Memorial Cup is awarded to the top J1/OJ junior from both the classic and freestyle races.

Billy finished 4th in Klingenthal, Germany this weekend. Iron Bill had the 3rd fastest XC time in the 10K Mass Start. Germany’s Eric Frenzel won the Event.
And in Antholz, Italy…… Tim Burke skied to a 16th place finish in the Pursuit. Tim was 1;57.2 behind winner Bjorn Ferry of Sweden. Tim had the 13th fastest time. Tim’s brother Sean and parents were in attendance.

NYSEF Nordic boys do it again. Billy Demong finishes 2nd in Val Di Fiemme today sandwiched between Germans Ackerman and Haseney. Bill edged Haseney for the silver by two-tenths of a second.
While Demong tore it up in Italy, NYSEF’s Lowell Bailey scored World Cup points in Ruhpolding, Germany with a 28th place. Timmy “T” Burke finished in 36th place. T is working his way back to World Cup ability from December sickness.
