National Champions, Olympians and World Championship American athletes will come together in just under two months to compete for National Championship Crowns here in Lake Placid, NY. The showdown is October 11th….

Todd Lodwick (4x Olympian) has officially come out of retirment to compete in Nordic Combined again, how will he do against local boy Billy Demong (3x)? Johnny Spillane (3x), gold medalist from World Championships 03 is of course another contender. At 2:15 October 11th, check out the wildest, fastest and hardest rollerski race you will ever see at the Mackenzie Intervale Ski Jumps. Without a doubt its the steepest course made for only the toughest athletes. Who will survive?

What a great weekend for NYSEF Nordic! The 2008-2009 Ski Jumping SuperTour list has just been published and NYSEF Nordic athletes (and alum) snatched 4 of the top 6 positions in the Men’s Class.

Right behind Anders Johnson (Park City, Utah) is Andrew Bliss (2nd), Nick Fairall (3rd), Peter Frenette (4th), and Chris Lamb (6th). Willy Graves is currently in 20th after the weekend events.

Most notable finishes were Andrew Bliss and Peter Frenette. In Friday’s Night Competiton Andrew told the big boy’s he’s here to stay with jumps of 85.5 and 91 meters on the K90 for the silver. He finished 2nd place, 20 points behind Anders. Peter Frenette, Junior phenom who grabbed the coaches attention as well, grabbed 4th place right behind Nick Fairall. Bravo Peter.

There is no question the NYSEF skiers have had huge benefits from training under NYSEF Elite SJ Coach Casey Colby. This is Casey’s 2nd season with NYSEF Nordic. Great job Casey. The NYSEF guys have also worked with Jochen Danneburg, Project X Head Coach.

The Women’s SuperTour Class is topped by Abby Hughes (Park City, Utah) with 433 points. Nina Lussi, Tara Geraghty-Moats and Danielle Lussi sit 6th, 7th and 8th. Keep it up Ladies!
